Our elite group of coaches bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to Team Rockstar and its athletes.
Our staff consists of ex-Olympians, AVP Champions, National team coaches, and current D1 college coaches and players.

Matthew Fuerbringer
Director/Owner/ 18 Rockstar
Matt Fuerbringer is the assistant coach for the USA Men’s Volleyball Team. As a coach, Matt has assisted with helping lead Team USA to an Olympic Bronze Medal (2016), World Cup Gold Medal (2014), and a World League Gold Medal (2015). Matt is the founder and director of Team Rockstar Volleyball Club. He attended Stanford University earning NCAA All American Awards for 4 years and National Championship in 1997.

Nick Vogel

Nick has been on the Team Rockstar staff for 3 Seasons. Nick was a four year starter for UCLA from 2009-2012, he returned to his alma mater and is on staff for the UCLA Mens Team. In 2023, UCLA won a National Championship. Nick was also an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at DePaul University. Vogel earned his bachelor’s degree in anthropology with a concentration in archeology from UCLA in 2012.

Angel Nikolov

With an impressive coaching resume that includes leading the USA National Volleyball Team in 2022 and the Pan American Cup in Mexico in 2023, Coach Nikolov brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success as both a coach and professional athlete."
Graduating in 2013 with a degree in international economics from the University Goce Delcev Macedonia, Nikolov excelled on the volleyball court. He showcased his talent as a setter, gracing international stages from 2008 to 2021 across several countries including France, Lebanon, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Iraq, Tunisia, and Albania. His remarkable career boasts a three-time MVP title, seven championship victories, and two second-place finishes.
In 2018, Nikolov transitioned to coaching, assuming the role of Head Coach for Sports Performance in Illinois. He later took on the role of Director and Head Coach for United Volleyball in Fountain Valley. In 2022-23, he contributed as the Assistant Coach for the USA National Volleyball Team and during the Pan American Cup held in Mexico.

Jo Rocha
18 Gold
This will be Jos 6th year coaching at Team Rockstar, but he is no stranger to our club. Jo played for Rockstar and went on to play at Long Beach City College where he won a CCCAA State Championship.

Jeffrey Ecevedo

Jeffrey Ecevedo enters his 4th season with Rockstar!

- Has 19 years of coaching experience for both girls and boys.

As an assistant For Boys Varsity 2009,2010,2011 Moore League Champs with Vuthy Cheav Won Consecutive tournaments. As an assistant Jeff coached Long Beach Poly Boys team to consecutive Moore League titles where the Boys program went 34-2 in League in three years. With Keli Pula(2013,2014,2015)
In 2016, the Long Beach Poly Girls team earned CIF SS Division 1 and Open Division semifinalists. In 2017 Division 1 state semifinalist. In 2018 Open Division state participate.

Sam Collins
17 Rockstar
Sam has been apart of the Team Rockstar family since we began in 2009. He is an alumni of our program and returns to coach his 1st season here with us. Sam played at Mira Costa High School and was named Rookie of the Season. He then went on to play Division 1 Volleyball at The University of Santa Barbra for the Gauchos.

Marco Gabriele
17 Gold
Originally from Italy, Marco played professionally for 12 seasons as a middle blocker with teams throughout Italy and Spain. Marco holds a degree in Sport Science with a postgraduate degree in Kinesiology. He is a FIPAV certified volleyball coach with additional certifications in strength and conditioning specific to volleyball. He has coached Youth to Serie A professional teams and Olympians. Marco continues to have strong connections with clubs throughout Europe and enjoys helping players connect with opportunities overseas. Upon moving to America, Marco has broadened his coaching experience to include Fullerton College and Team Rockstar. In 2023, he helped the 15 Rockstar team win a bronze medal at the Junior National Volleyball Championships. In his free time, you can find him playing and coaching on the beach near his home in Belmont Shore.

Jason Kwak
16 Rockstar
Jason enters his 4th year coaching here at Team Rockstar. Jason comes to Rockstar with a vast coaching background. He has coached at Long Beach City Volleyball Club and currently coaches High School Volleyball. Last year, Jason's 16s team was ranked 5th in the Nation. He is currently on staff at Long Beach City College and in 2019 he won a National State Championship.

Sid Davidson
15 Gold
Sidney (Sid) Davidson enter’s his 5th season with Team Rockstar. He is now in his 27th year of
coaching club and high school. Sid coached and taught for 15 years at St John Bosco in
Bellflower. Sid currently teaches and coaches at Long Beach Poly High School.Sid holds a Kinesiology degree and teaching credential from Cal State Long Beach University.He also earned a post graduate’s degree from Azusa Pacific University in Physical Educationwith an emphasis in Sports Management / Business where he graduated with honors.
Sid is married to Geodi Sunabe-Davidson who also teaches, coaches volleyball and is an athletic director. Together they have two beautiful children Michael and Meilani Davidson who play in both our Boys and girls program.

Naomi Iosia
Administrator / 14 Rockstar
Naomi Iosia begins her 4th season with Team Rockstar. She comes from a family of volleyball players that have gone through both the boys and girls program here at the Mac. She earned a scholarship to Hope International University (2009-2012) where she received a degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Biblical Studies, and also obtains a Masters Degree in Educational Administration. Naomi has previously coached at North Torrance and Ambassador High School and currently coaches at Long Beach Poly. She is in her 12th season with Mizuno Long Beach. In 2018, her 12 Mizuno won gold at Junior Nationals in Detroit, Michigan. Her boys teams have won 2 Silver Medals at Nationals. Naomi is currently one of our administrators at Team Rockstar.

Victor Villareal
14 Gold
Victor returns for his 2nd season with Team Rockstar. Growing up Victor played football, but found volleyball in High School. He earned a football scholarship to the University of New Mexico. After finishing up he returned to Rockstar to coach. In 2023 he welcomed his first daughter Londyn with fellow coach Moni.

Sabryn Roberts

Entering her 3rd year with Team Rockstar, played club for Mizuno from 2009-2015 and went on to play volleyball at Boise State University graduating in 2019 with a Bachelor's in Communications. Always dreamed of playing volleyball at the highest level so after college, she was eager to start her professional career overseas and it began in northern Greece in the city of Thessaloniki, then on to France in Bordeaux, and just finished her third season in Switzerland in a small town by the name of Wattwil. She always tries to make her way back to the MAC when she's home whether it's to get touches or help out with the kids and super excited to be coaching this season!

Anthony Wong-Orantes
18 Rockstar/Floater Coach
Anthony begins his 7th year with Team Rockstar, but has been a part of the club for quite some time. He played his club career for Team Rockstar. He went on to play collegiate ball at Long Beach State. He is currently on staff for the Long Beach State Women’s Volleyball Team. In 2022, his 12s team won the Summer Soiree and his 13 Rockstar team won a Silver Medal at AAUs in Orlando Florida

Robbie Orantes

Robbie has been a part of the Mizuno Long Beach family for quite some time. Both of his children have gone through the Boys and Girls Program. His daughter Justine Wong-Orantes is the Libero on the USA Women’s National Team and recently won a Gold Medal at the Tokoyo Olympics. Robbie also coaches on our boys side; Team Rockstar and has won 2 Silver Medal at AAU Nationals.

Lyanna Garcia
Floater
Lyanna returns for her 3rd season at Team Rockstar She attended Bishop Montgomery High School where she was a member of the varsity team for four years and a three time Del Rey League champion. A former player of the club, Lyanna returns to Rockstar after attending Long Beach State. She is also entering her 5th season with Mizuno Long Beach. Lyanna is a former boy’s volleyball coach at Los Alamitos High School and is currently coaching for their girl’s volleyball program. In 2022, her 12 Mizuno team won silver at SCVA’s Summer Soirée. In 2023, her boys 13 Rockstar team won silver at AAU Nationals.

Kristen Lansburg
LAB
Originally from upstate NY. Received a bachelors degree, in 2015, majoring in Sport Management with minors in coaching and psychology from the College at Brockport, SUNY. I played indoor as an outside/DS for 2 years. I helped out with Paradigm Volleyball Club 14s and 17s teams for a semester. Then, went on to be the assistant women’s volleyball coach at Morrisville State College in NY for 3 seasons while also coaching High School girls at Morrisville-Eaton for 2 seasons. In 2018 I went back to college at Brockport for a second bachelors degree in Exercise Science with a biology minor, and finished my last two years of playing eligibility as a DS/libero. I have since done two Strength & Conditioning internships; one at Pepperdine University one at and UCLA. I received my CSCS in May 2020. I am so excited to join the Rockstar Family as both a volleyball and strength coach!!

Alec Gilliland
12 Rockstar
This will be Alec's 10th year coaching at Team Rockstar. He has coached all age levels. He attended North Torrance High School and went on to play at El Camino College. Alec is married to Lindsey Lampert and they have 4 kids in the program.

Anjinho Bacil
14 Rockstar
Anjinho has been apart of Team Rockstar since its inception in 2009. He has numerous amounts of medals in boys volleyball with his most recent being his 4th Gold Medal at the 2024 AAU Nationals in 14 Open.
Anjinho was also the Head Coach at El Segundo HS--2009-2015 (2015 CIF Champions DIV 3). In 2015, he was named League Coach of the Year.
He was a member of the Brazil National Team from 1988-91 and was ranked in top 8 of AVP rankings for 10 straight years. Anjinjo trains professional beach volleyball players and was the U-21 USA boy’s national team head coach from 2009-2014, and the Team USA beach volleyball U23 head coach.

Yadier Sanchez
18 Gold/Positional Trainer
This will be Yadi's 1st year coaching with Team Rockstar. He is from Cuba having played professionally from 2011-2019 in Turkey, Brazil and Abu Dhabi. He was on the Cuba National Team and won two bronze medals.

Zachary Hawkins
15 Gold
This will be Zachary's 1st Season with Team Rockstar. Hawk began his coaching career at Menlo College where he spent 2 seasons on the Men’s & Women’s teams, producing 2 All-Americans & the most wins in program history. As a player, He played collegiate volleyball at Grossmont College, Finishing Top 5 in the State. Eventually finishing his career at Lourdes University where he won two conference championships.

Ghie Lubrica
16 Gold
Ghie enters his 1st season of coaching for Team Rockstar. Ghie attended Westcliff University, where he played for the Indoor and beach volleyball men's team. With his time at Westcliff, he left with the first ever Men's Beach Volleyball National title. After a successful career, he played in the Semi-Pro league in America.
